The 2 2022 Tallahassee Regional will be held March 17th – 19th 2022 at the Alfred Lawson Jr. Multipurpose Center on FAMU’s Campus. This will be the FIRST time we have had a Regional in North Florida and the first FIRST Regional Competition on the campus of an HBCU – a great time to get involved!
Your generous donation to the Tallahassee Regional at any time during the year, will help ensure that thousands of students have access to the unique learning experiences we offer students during a season. These can include workshops, training for both students and mentors and STEM outreach days to younger students.
By making your unrestricted gift to , FIRST, Tallahassee Regional we will be able to allocate funds where they are most needed, including to regional events, teams, and operational and outreach expenses. Donations to the Regional through FIRSTare tax deductible as permitted by law.
The Tallahassee Regional makes an academic and career impact on students, and an economic impact on Tallahassee and its surrounding communities. Over 30 teams will bring more than 1500 high school students with mentors, family members and supporters from across the Southeastern US, some coming from as far away as Hawaii. These visitors will be frequenting our hotels, restaurants, and attractions for about one week.They will explore our State Capital, tour our college campuses and meet some of our high tech community leaders.
The Regional prepares the next generation of scientists, engineers and technicians through a high tech super-charged learning atmosphere. It provides the environment to nurture a sense of value and self-worth in our young people. During these very difficult times for our country, this positive experience celebrates the basic values, which have been the foundation of America’s prosperity — Learning, teamwork, innovation, entrepreneurship and gracious professionalism. Now more than ever it is important to support the development of a scientifically and technologically literate society and workforce.
