The Tallahassee Regional takes place at the historic Florida A&M University in the Alfred Lawson Jr. Multipurpose Center and Teaching Gymnasium, a 9,639-seat multi-purpose arena built in 2009.

FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) was founded in 1989 by inventor Dean Kamen.
